Valerie Coyazo, Vice President of Development

Valerie is the chair elect for the Great Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the co-chair of the Chamber’s KC Biz Fest. She serves on the Alta Vista Education Board at the Guadalupe Center and is active with the Mid-America Minority Business Council. She is the recipient of the Thomas E. Percell Award for outstanding contributions from Guadalupe Center and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Award for her volunteer work. She lives with her two dogs, Jake and Nikita, and enjoys golf, movies, travel and hanging out with her friends.

Susie is currently the Program Director and Volunteer Coordinator for various programs at her local church including an annual event with 250+ volunteers. She’s developed curriculum and a mentor system for a community-based program to support and educated new mothers. She’s the owner and product developer for a successful hobby business. She’s married to Mike and has two grown daughters, Tori and Alli, and one son, Jon.

Tondee is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and received the organizations Women-to-Watch Emerging Leaders Award in August 2008. She’s a member of the BKD Foundation Committee, which provided financial support and volunteer time to charitable organizations through the community. She serves on the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Connect. She is also a United Way Young Leaders Society Steering Committee member and an alumna of the Centurions Leadership Program.
Sherri Wattenbarger, Secretary

Sherri joined the U.S. Department of Justice through highly competitive Attorney General’s Honors Program under AG Janet Reno and worked in the Civil Division in Washington D.C. She’s a Board Member with UMKC Athletic Foundation, Kansas City Bankruptcy Bar Association, ABI’s Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute and the Credit Abuse Resistance Education Program. In 2012 she was given the Volunteer of the Year Award by the U.S. Attorney General and the Women’s Justice Award for Public Service. In 2011, she was named Woman of the Year by the Association of Women Lawyers. She has many more accolades to her name including chairing many committees and serving as a member in several programs. She is a veteran of 118 triatholns and lives with her husband Brian and dogs Gizmo and Lily in Overland Park.

Sharon is currently the Secretary for the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Co-Chair of the HCC 35th Anniversary Noche de Gala and Chair of the HCC Golf Tournament. She is a board member and committee chair for organizations such as the Guadalupe Center, Minority Supplier Institute, YMCA of Greater Kansas City, Alta Vista Education Board and is active with the Mid-America Minority Business Council. She lives with her husband Frank and enjoys spending time with her granddaughters and friends and family.

Christy has worked with small business clients for over 17 years by assisting in tax planning, tax preparation and business consulting. She is a member of the Missouri Certified Public Accountants and the Fine Arts Chorale. She is the Treasurer for Thank You Walt Disney and EMBA Connection.

Cathy is the past president of the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and sat on the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors for the Missouri Bar. She was honored as the Best of the Bar in 2011 by the KC Star and has been selected as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer for many years. She is a fellow member of the Litigation Counsel of America. Cathy has been a long time supporter of the Women’s Foundation.
Colleen Dougherty Euteneuer
Colleen is a retired telecomm executive. She received her B.A. from Rutgers and her MBA from The George Washington University. She moved to Kansas City from Denver where she was very involved with the Colorado Women’s Foundation. She served on the 2012 Luncheon Committee for the Women’s Foundation.
Heather Counts Garrett

Heather serves as a Director for the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium as well as the Estate Planning Society of Kansas City. She is actively involved with planned giving and other initiatives at the Women’s Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Children’s Mercy Hospital. She is the 2007 graduate of Centurions, a 2-year leadership program with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. She’s also adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She’s been selected as a Missouri and Kansas Rising Star by Super Lawyers and was named to the 40 Under 40 Class of 2012 by Ingram’s Magazine. She lives in Kansas City with her husband, David.

Linda is the president of the Kansas City Region of Enterprise Bank & Trust, a banking and wealth management company. As president of the Kansas City Region, she directs Enterprise’s commercial lending, sales development, and marketing efforts and oversees the day-to-day activities of the bank’s seven Kansas City branches. Linda received a BA in Business and Economics from Central College, and has been recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of its “Women Who Mean Business.” she is also a past recipient of the Kansas City Up and Comers Award and was most recently honored by Ingram’s as a “WeKC honoree” and KCB Magazine as one of its “50 Most Influential Women.

Yvonne began her career in a public accounting CPA firm and spent 20 years in life insurance/financial services industry. She has served over 7 years on the boards of the Central Exchange and the Central Exchange Education Foundation and now serves on the board of the Westport Historical Society. She is the immediate past treasurer of the Women’s Foundation Board of Directors. In 2010, she was awarded the Kansas City Business Journal’s CFO of the Year.

Melanie is the former Vice President for the Grants Allocation Committee for the Women’s Foundation. She’s the Finance Chairperson for St. James United Methodist Church. She ‘s the founder and former chairperson for the Parents Promoting Diversity at Rockhurst High School. She’s the recipient of Ingram’s 40 Under 40 award, Southern Christian Leadership Council’s Black Achiever award, Hallmark Finance Award for Mastering Excellence and Hallmark Diversity Leadership Award. Melanie is married with two sons, William Jr. and Jordan.

Christy has a B.A. in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Missouri. She is a certified Trust and Financial Advisor and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Kansas City. Terry has more than 20 years’ experience in communications and advertising. Honors include numerous IABC Bronze and Silver Quills, IQPC Intranet of the Year, CIO 50/50 and top honors from the Society for New Communications Research for social program. She’s the past president of the Kansas City Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, former co-chair of the Wayside Waifs “Strutt with Your Mutt” fundraiser. She’s a graduate of University of Missouri School of Journalism. She lives in Leawood with her sons Nate and Cort.

Kathleen has her associates degree in Interior Design from Johnson County Community College and her BSN from Kansas University. She is currently a member of the Development Committee and assisted with the Business Affinity Program. Kathleen’s other community service includes Board Member of the Trolley Run for the last 6 years, current member and past Board member for the local chapter of American Society of Interior Designers. She has been married for 28 years to her husband Wood and has two sons, Dylan and Andrew.

Julie is the founder of SocialHeart, a non-profit organization that provide support to other Kansas City non-profits through fundraising events, volunteer coordination and marketing efforts. She sits on the board of Young Variety of Greater Kansas City and also coordinates all social media for Young Variety. She was an active member of the United States Army Reserves for 7 years and awarded the Army Achievement Medal in 2006, 2009 and 2010. She is from Concordia, Missouri and currently resides in the heart of downtown Kansas City in the Crossroads District.

Lou has been an associate in a small firm, captive counsel to a national company, founder of his own firm and partner in a large, regional firm before joining McDowell, Rice. He is the chair of the Blue Valley Recreation Commission and was a former coach and/or assistant coach for over 10 years for youth basketball, baseball and soccer teams. He was the co-chair for Making Cents in the City for the Women’s Foundation and member of the Executive Committee for Credit Abuse Resistance Education. He is a member and Vice President of the Centennial Park Homeowner’s Association.

Kristin is currently the alumni advisor for the sorority and fraternity Greek system at the University of Kansas.
